From research to real-world impact
Life Science Transfer Academy helps life science researchers move from research to real-world impact through collaboration, licensing or future spin-offs. The free English-language programme includes a micro-credential and runs once a year at CEITEC MUNI in Brno, with the next cohort planned for autumn 2026. It is co-organised by JIC, CEITEC MUNI, MED MUNI, PHARM MUNI and SCI MUNI, with TTO MUNI, investors and industry partners involved. Life Science Transfer Academy is a structured, practice-oriented programme focused on science-to-business and research commercialisation in the life sciences.
Over the course of the programme, participants work on their own research-based projects and explore:

- what problem their research is actually solving,
- who could benefit from it in real-world settings,
- what commercialisation paths exist,
- and how to make informed decisions about the future of their project.
Who should consider LSTA?
The programme is designed for:
- master students, PhD candidates, postdocs, and early-career researchers in life sciences,
- researchers working on projects with potential application beyond academia,
- scientists who are curious about impact, but not necessarily aiming to start a company,
- teams or individuals at an early stage of thinking about transfer or collaboration.
What will you gain from the programme?
By the end of the programme, participants:
- understand the value and potential impact of their research,
- can clearly explain what problem they solve and for whom,
- know the main routes of commercialisation (licensing, collaboration, spin-off),
- understand the role of IP, TTOs, and partners,
- have tested their assumptions through basic validation,
- and are able to make a conscious decision about next steps.
