A business incubator that supports innovative start-ups targeting the space industry market.

The ESA BIC is an international network of incubators in 20 European countries, under the auspices of the European Space Agency (ESA). Its aim is to support the development and further growth of start-ups and encourage the development of high added value products. Almost 200 companies are supported each year across Europe. In the Czech Republic, ESA opened its first incubator in 2016 in Prague, operated by CzechInvest. In March 2018, a branch was opened in Brno, in cooperation with JIC. JIC, as the guarantor of the programme, will provide an incubation package to selected applicants, with financial support from the South Moravian Region, which will include consultancy and advisory services in the technological and entrepreneurial fields. Start-ups will also be offered marketing support or assistance with finding partners and potential investors.

What business areas does ESA BIC support?

  • Pozemské využití kosmických technologií, systémů a družicových dat (tzv. downstream).
