Brokerage

Brokerage is an international meeting that enables to facilitate collaboration between academia and industry in one place. These events are usually focused on one or more technology sectors and aims at establishment of contacts and search for partners for international cooperation in research, development, technology applications and production.

Participants have the opportunity to meet at bilateral meetings that are organized beforehand according to their preferences.

In April 2009 Brno held ICT Brokerage that was aimed at fostering scientific and industrial cooperation in the information and communication technology sector and especially at involvement in the Seventh Framework Programme in the ICT thematic priority.

ICT Brokerage 2009 was attended by 98 participants, of them 35 were from abroad. The majority of them evaluated the event as very beneficial, the most useful part of the programme were considered informal meetings during the day and the possibility to find new contacts relevant to their research plan or activities.

In June 2010 Brno hosted the international brokerage event within the frame of the SynBIOsis project. Brokerage event was devoted to fostering R&D collaborations between academic research teams and companies in the field of biotechnology, bioinformatics, nanotechnology and health.
